The Irish Staffordshire tends to be slightly longer in neck and body than the standard Staffordshire. The view of many who
keep the breed is to aim for a height of 18-19 inches (45,7-48,2 cm.) and a weight of 39-41 lbs (17,6-18,5 kg.) for a dog, with bitches about 4 lbs (1,8 kg.) smaller.
This is above the standard weights of the standard Staffordshire, but is still a balanced dog.
Looking at an Irish Staffordshire the viewer will see a much leaner, fitter dog than the standard Staffordshire, with
obvious muscles which comes from training. The tail may be longer and carried high, sometime from exuberance.
The most famous strains in the Irish Staffordshire Bull Terrier is; Stormer, Psycho, Flynn and Dublin Red, with the
Blue Bullet, Jocko & the Belcher lines following.
The Irish Staffordshire Bull Terrier has much stamina and gameness. Its temperament must be controlled from an early age, and
the owner must make it clear for the puppy that he is the boss.
