Bully Kutta found its popularity in the dark side of the Dog World....in Fighting!br> In the time of the past they were used as hunting dogs and then they found their way into fighting with big games like bears and made its way into either dog fighting or being a guard dog.
The training of Bully to become a fighting dog goes through extremely hard conditioning exercises too the extent of even being tied to a Motorcycle and made to run along with it for miles.
An illegal Bully to Bully fight has many spectators barring only the women.

Note that many people tend to create stories about Bully Kutta originating from Great Danes and English Mastiff. This is far from the truth. As the English Mastiff would not have found a livable temperature in India nor does the history has anything written about its presence as India already had Mastiff breeds, which are good guard dogs, and for hunting they would use hounds and Gaddis (another mastiff type breed), or Sindh Mastiff or even Cypro Kukur (also called Kumaon Mastiff). Great Danes were present in India only with Royalties who did not take any part in creating any mastiff breed in India.
So for the absence of considerable amount of gene pool from where such a fictitious crossing should happen, the theory doesn’t hold good.

If we take a good look at the Persian Alaunt one can easily spot the tail very much in the same shape in the Bully Kutta picture given at these pages.
The Bully Kutta comes in a short smooth coat of predominantly white colors, however fawn, black and harlequins are also accepted which I think is OK as the Gawii had both the fawn and the black colour.
The height of the Bully Kutta are 30 to 34 inches (76-85,5 cm.) for males and 29 to 32 inches (73,5-81,5 cm.) for females.
Over the period of time the ancient Bully Kutta shape have become rare to find and the much talked about history of Bully Kutta is filled with confusion and wrong information. But people now have become conscious and are working hard to restore the proper shape of the Bully Kutta.
